Job summary

Indiana University Health in Muncie, Indiana is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist to support the Cardiac Cath Lab with focus on cardiac procedures and Cath Lab cases. The role involves assisting cardiologists in interventional procedures, adhering to safety protocols, and documenting in the EMR.

Shifts are three 12-hour days, roughly 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, with rotating weekdays (Monday-Friday). The schedule does not tie to fixed days, and there are no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of relevant Cath Lab experience.
• BLS certification required per AHA guidelines.
• Active ARRT RT(R) credential and ISDH license required.
• Experience in interventional procedures and radiology safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists cardiologist/electrophysiologist in interventional procedures and sets up sterile field.
• Maintains radiation safety and documents required information in EMR.
• Verifies patient supplies and ensures cross-sectional and vascular anatomy awareness.
• Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety.

Candidate Requirements

Preferred

• Previous Cath Lab experience
• Previous Interventional Radiology experience
• Procedural imaging experience

Assists cardiologist/electrophysiologist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate. Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure. Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures. Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy. Communicates and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc). Documents necessary information in EMR.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
• Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.
