Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiology Technologist for North Hospital in Indiana. The role supports radiology teams, learning IR and Cardiac Cath, with hours 7:00AM-5:30PM, Monday-Friday, rotating day off. On-call required; candidates must reside within 30 minutes of North Hospital.

A sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants. Responsibilities include assisting the radiologist during procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and documenting findings

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of relevant interventional radiology experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Active RT(R) registration with ARRT and Indiana ISDH radiologic technologist license.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and position patients as needed.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used in interventional exams.
  • Strong knowledge of cross-sectional and vascular anatomy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures and act as scrub tech.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and monitor patient dose alerts.
  • Document necessary information in EMR.

Overview

Are you an upcoming diagnostic radiology technologist graduate or recent graduate?

This is a full-time Interventional Radiology Technologist position located at North Hospital.

The hours are 7:00AM-5:30PM Monday-Friday (Rotating day off). On-call required, candidate must live within 30 minutes of North Hospital. We are willing to train - you will learn both IR and Cardiac Cath.

Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate. Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure. Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures. Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy. Communicates and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc). Documents necessary information in EMR.

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT.
  • May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
  • Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.
