Indiana University Health in Indianapolis is seeking a Full-Time Surgery Radiologic Technologist to join the OR team. The role focuses on operating C-Arm imaging for orthopedic, spine, urology, and pain management procedures, with no weekends, nights, on-call, or holidays.

The position is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., reporting to the Senate Street Surgery Center with potential floating to other IU Health Ambulatory Surgery Centers for C-arm coverage.

Qualifications

  • BLS certification required.
  • Active ARRT Radiography (RT(R)) credential.
  • Current Indiana ISDH Radiologic Technologist license.
  • 3–5 years radiology diagnostic experience preferred.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and adapt positioning as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures in the OR setting.
  • Follow physician instructions and position patients to obtain diagnostic images.
  • Lead or participate in improvement initiatives and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Possibly serve as onboarding/preceptor or clinical instructor; mentor team members.

Overview

Are you a Radiologic Technologist who thrives on utilizing your skillset in the OR environment? This position is for you! Come join our team as a Full-Time Surgery Rad Tech with no weekends/nights/ call/ or holidays rotations! This position is M-F, 7a- 3:30p and will report to the Senate Street Surgery Center in Indianapolis. Floating to other IU Health Ambulatory Surgery Centers throughout Indianapolis may also be needed for c-arm coverage. The technologist will be responsible for running C-Arms for surgical specialties such as Orthopedics, Pain Management, Urology, and Spine procedures, and will act as a liaison between the OR Teams and Imaging Services. Job Description

Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures for radiological diagnosis, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Displays leadership characteristics by volunteering for improvement initiatives and intra/interdepartmental committees, seeking new ways to improve team collaboration and success, functioning as a subject matter expert, and acting as a mentor to assist in team development and coaching. Advanced responsibilities may include acting as an onboarding/orientation preceptor, serving as clinical instructor for students, providing and leading annual CE opportunities for team members, acting as the operations leader during the absence of a team lead/supervisor.

  • Basic Life Support certification, required.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
  • 3-5 years experience as a radiology diagnostic technologist, preferred.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
