Job summary

Indiana University Health is hiring a full-time Interventional Radiology Technologist for the new IU Health Fort Wayne Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role is day shift, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, no hospital openings call at launch, and potential future call responsibilities after launch.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography (RT(R)) through ARRT.
• Current Indiana ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures and acts as scrub tech when needed.
• Adheres to safety and infection control protocols and follows radiation safety guidelines.
• Sets up sterile field and ensures appropriate supplies are available for procedures.
• Documents required information in the EMR and collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team.

This is a full-time, day shift Interventional Radiology Technologist role located at the new IU Health Fort Wayne Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Schedule

• Monday-Friday


• Approximately 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM


• No call at hospital opening


• Future call responsibilities anticipated after hospital launch

Preferred Qualifications

Job Duties, Tasks, and Qualifications:

Assists radiologist/interventionalist in interventional procedures including acting as scrub tech where appropriate. Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Follows radiation safety protocols and is aware of patient dose alert levels and escalation procedure. Understands and has knowledge of complex procedures. Demonstrates ability to determine appropriate supplies for procedure and sets up sterile field. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross sectional and vascular anatomy. Communicates and work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (critical care, ED, Trauma, IP, OP, Nursing, Oncology, Transplant, GI, Neurosurgery, etc). Documents necessary information in EMR.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.


• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.


• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.


• Requires knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during interventional exams.


• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).


• May be required to obtain advanced credential in interventional radiography, if applicable.


• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.


• Experience as a radiologic technologist, preferred.
