Job summary

Indiana University Health System in Indianapolis seeks a Radiologic Technologist for a full-time Surgery Rad Tech role in the OR. No weekends, nights, call, or holidays; schedule is M-F, 7a–3:30p, with potential floating to other IU Health Ambulatory Surgery Centers for C-Arm coverage.

Responsibilities include operating C-Arms for Ortho, Pain Management, Urology, and Spine procedures, coordinating with OR and Imaging Services, and providing mentorship and CE opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Active BLS certification.
  • ARRT RT(R) certification in Radiography.
  • Indiana ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist.
  • 3–5 years of radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures for various age groups.
  • Operate C-Arms for orthopedic, pain management, urology and spine procedures.
  • Act as liaison between OR teams and Imaging Services.
  • Serve as onboarding/preceptor or clinical instructor when needed.

Job description

Come join our team as a Full-Time Surgery Rad Tech with no weekends/nights/ call/ or holidays rotations! This position is M-F, 7a- 3:30p and will report to the Senate Street Surgery Center in Indianapolis. Floating to other IU Health Ambulatory Surgery Centers throughout Indianapolis may also be needed for c-arm coverage. The technologist will be responsible for running C-Arms for surgical specialties such as Orthopedics, Pain Management, Urology, and Spine procedures, and will act as a liaison between the OR Teams and Imaging Services. Job Description:

Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures for radiological diagnosis, in a timely fashion, while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Displays leadership characteristics by volunteering for improvement initiatives and intra/interdepartmental committees, seeking new ways to improve team collaboration and success, functioning as a subject matter expert, and acting as a mentor to assist in team development and coaching. Advanced responsibilities may include acting as an onboarding/orientation preceptor, serving as clinical instructor for students, providing and leading annual CE opportunities for team members, acting as the operations leader during the absence of a team lead/supervisor.

  • Basic Life Support certification, required.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist.
  • 3-5 years experience as a radiology diagnostic technologist, preferred.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
