Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to assist with invasive Angio and interventional procedures in the IR Suite. Responsibilities include surgical scrub and circulation, and total patient care during and after procedures.

You will perform radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under physician direction, prep patients, obtain contrast materials, circulate, and document hemodynamic records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an ANA-accredited Radiologic Technologist Program required.
• Radiology Interventional Program completion preferred.
• BLS certification per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional procedures under physician supervision.
• Explain procedures to patients and prep them for procedures.
• Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed.
• Circulate during procedures and ensure patient comfort.
• Provide supplies for invasive procedures.
• Remove catheters/sheaths and apply pressure as needed.
• Report information to holding area or nursing unit.
• Record hemodynamic and contrast data; ensure prompt documentation.
• Enter patient data into WITT and send films for review.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or engineers.
