Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist to provide radiography and fluoroscopic coverage for interventional procedures. The role requires patient communication, prep, and safe handling of medications and contrast materials under physician guidance.

The candidate will circulate during procedures, maintain patient comfort, and ensure accurate data entry and reporting. Prior IR experience and appropriate certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an ANA accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or Radiology Interventional Program preferred.
• BLS required per policy.
• RTR certification preferred; 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiography and fluoroscopic coverage under physician supervision.
• Explains the procedure to patient and preps patient for the procedure.
• Obtains medications or contrast materials for administration as directed.
• Circulates during the procedure and maintains patient comfort.
• Provides supplies for diagnostic and invasive procedures.
• Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure as needed.
• Reports information to holding area or nursing unit as required.
• Records hemodynamic and contrast media data promptly and accurately.
• Enters patient data into the WITT program and forwards films for review.
• Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or engineers for repairs.
