Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time radiology interventional technologist to perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopy under physician direction. The role includes preparing patients, obtaining medications and contrast materials, circulating during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort.

This position requires completing an ANA-accredited Radiologic Technologist program or Radiology Interventional program, with BLS and RTR as applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of ANA-accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or Radiology Interventional Program required.
• BLS required per policy guidelines. RTR required.
• 1 year in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional procedures under physician direction.
• Explains the procedure to the patient and prep the patient for the procedure.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner or licensed staff.
• Circulates during the procedure and maintains responsibility for patient comfort.
• Provides supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
• Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
• Records hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.
• Enters patient data and inventory into WITT program and sends films for review.
