Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking an experienced scheduling and registration professional to support Interventional Radiology visits and procedures at Hillcrest, Jacobs Medical Center, and other sites. You will manage clinic appointments, interventional procedures, and patient communications across multiple physicians and service lines.

The role requires strong customer service, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience with Epic scheduling modules.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of related experience with scheduling Interventional Radiology procedures or coordinating radiology exams in a multi-specialty setting.
• Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans.
• Proven ability to handle multi-line incoming calls, schedule appointments, and perform online registration.
• Experience in scheduling IR procedures and clinic consultations.
• Must understand Medical Terminology with emphasis in Interventional Radiology.
• Knowledge of Interventional procedures.
• Experience in a large healthcare setting with excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive scheduling, registration, and administrative support for Interventional Radiology visits and procedures across multiple locations.
• Schedule clinic appointments and interventional procedures for multiple physicians and APPs.
• Coordinate patient scheduling across service lines and maintain scheduling templates in Epic (Optime, Radiant).
• Serve as liaison between patients, clinical teams, and departments to facilitate access and scheduling.
• Maintain high accuracy in data entry, records, and communications with patients and staff.
