Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking dedicated nurses to provide professional nursing care to SIH patients across multiple units. The role requires active Illinois RN licensure, current CPR/BLS, and ACLS within 6 months of hire, with advanced credentials for several specialty units.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, planning and evaluating individualized care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license is required.
• ACLS and PALS (where applicable) must be current or obtained within required timelines.
• CPR/BLS current.
• Nursing degree at an approved level.
• Experience requirements are listed by unit area and must be adhered to.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Provide compassionate environment and support to patients and families.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care with the care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health.
• Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to respond to changes in patient condition.
• Document accurately in the medical record in a timely manner.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development for safety and quality of care.
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Advocate for patients through collaboration with health professionals.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.

Education

Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Nursing Licenses and Certification
