Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a professional nurse to provide compassionate, patient-centered care for SIH patients across designated units.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, collaborating with the care team, documenting care plans, and promoting health education. Requires nursing degree and active Illinois RN license with CPR/BLS; ACLS within 6 months of hire and additional certifications as listed.

Qualifications

• Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Current CPR/BLS Card.
• ACLS card (within 6 months of hire).
• ACLS & PALS card (within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients
• Demonstrate ability to use clinical judgement in conjunction with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record
• Provide input into the development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care
• Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals
• Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level
