Job summary

Qualifications
- Nursing degree from an approved program.
- Current Illinois RN license.
- CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
- Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate an individual plan of care with the multidisciplinary health care team.
- Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health.
- Demonstrate clinical judgement with critical thinking to respond to changes in patient condition.
- Complete and timely documentation in the patient medical record.
- Contribute to policy development to support patient safety and quality of care.
- Supervise licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistive personnel as delegated.
- Advocate for the patient by communicating with care professionals.
- Complete required education and licensure in a timely manner.
- Float to other SIH units within competency level.
