Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Cardiovascular RN to join the Cardiac Catheterization Lab team. You will care for patients before, during, and after diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures, while collaborating with cardiologists and the multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in critical care or interventional settings, BLS/ACLS, and strong ECG interpretation skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current South Carolina or Compact State RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac physiology/pathology, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and physiologic monitoring.
• Experience – one of the following: 2 years Critical Care/ED RN OR 2 years Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology RN OR 1 year Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab RN.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status.
• Provide moderate sedation per policy and competency.
• Prepare patients, sterile fields, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond to cardiac emergencies.
• Assist with emergency interventions including defibrillation and temporary pacing.
• Educate and reassure patients and families throughout the procedural experience.
• Collaborate with Cardiologists and Cath Lab team.
• Promote patient safety and efficient procedural care.
