Job summary

MUSC Health in Orangeburg, SC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (CCL). You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care during the shift, collaborate with interventional cardiology staff, and ensure adherence to nursing standards.

The Cath Lab Nurse supports complex procedures such as left heart catheterizations, PCI and pacemaker insertions, monitors vital signs, responds to emergencies, and communicates clearly with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of South Carolina.
• Two years ICU/CCU or Telemetry with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures and BLS/ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses staffing needs for quality patient care in the Cath Lab and coordinates with management.
• Monitors and interprets patient data, including EKG, vitals and laboratory results.
• Provides direct patient care for adults in the Cath Lab and post-procedure care.
• Interprets ECG patterns and responds to changes in patient condition with clinical judgment.
• Documents findings, communicates with the health care team, and maintains patient confidentiality.
