Job summary

Reynoldsburg City Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate & Moderate/Intensive) to provide specially designed instruction and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with Ohio standards, ensuring FAPE in the Least Restrictive Environment.

The role reports to the Director of Special Education and requires collaboration with building administrators, teachers, school psychologists, and families.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio License: Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate K-12) AND/OR Intervention Specialist (Moderate/Intensive K-12).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and compliance requirements.
• Must pass a criminal background check (BCI/FBI).

Responsibilities

• Develop annual goals and short‑term objectives based on students’ present levels of performance.
• Identify and provide accommodations/modifications for students with a range of disabilities.
• Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) in various settings using evidence‑based strategies.
• Draft, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with IDEA and state regulations; monitor student progress and inform instructional adjustments.
• Lead or participate in IEP/ETR meetings and collaborative planning with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide high‑structure instruction in inclusive, resource, or specialized units for students with moderate to intensive needs.
• Teach functional life skills and support communication, self‑care, and vocational readiness.
• Collaborate with school psychologists, general education teachers, related services, and families to promote inclusive practices.
• Direct and mentor paraprofessionals to ensure effective service delivery.
• Maintain safety, professionalism, and confidentiality in all duties.
