Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC in Dayton, OH seeks a qualified Intervention Specialist to support EK-8 students with an emphasis on IEP goals and behavior improvement. The role collaborates with classroom teachers to implement interventions and adapt instruction in a public charter school setting.

The ideal candidate will conduct diagnostics, facilitate IEP meetings, and communicate progress with families, while applying research-based practices and culturally responsive teaching.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting abilities and disabilities and supporting IEP goals.
• Ability to conduct diagnostic and functional behavior assessments.
• Experience with inclusive co-teaching models.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to interpret student needs and modify curricula.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals and objectives.
• Support student achievement and school culture.
• Apply research-based practices in planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching.
• Serve as advisor for a group of students.
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in planning non-instructional activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
