Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC seeks an Intervention Specialist for Case Preparatory Academy in Akron, Ohio. The role focuses on supporting students with IEP goals in an EK-8 setting within a STEAM-focused curriculum and strong family partnerships.

The ideal candidate collaborates with teachers, conducts diagnostic and functional assessments, leads IEPs, and helps foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment with a focus on social-emotional development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in inclusive classrooms or resource room co-teaching.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations and progress checks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities and adjust intervention strategies.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Perform functional behavior assessments and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals and objectives.
• Work toward school-wide achievement and culture goals and state targets.
• Use evidence-based planning and instruction in daily lessons.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching in interactions with students and families.
• Advise a designated group of students and communicate with families about progress.
• Participate in planning and executing non-instructional activities like events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
