Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC seeks an Intervention Specialist for Cleveland Primary Sports Academy in Cleveland, OH, focusing on K–5 inclusion and IEP-driven support. You will collaborate with teachers to adapt curricula, conduct assessments, and implement behavior plans to foster student achievement and social-emotional growth.

You will participate in IEP meetings, communicate with families, and help maintain a positive, structured learning environment aligned with state standards and core curricula.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in inclusion/co-teaching in a resource room model.
• Growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word and Outlook).
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks (FBI/BCI).
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities/disabilities and modify general education curricula; assist in intervention strategies and with regular class assignments.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Work to meet goals related to student achievement and school culture.
• Use research-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching in daily lessons and interactions.
• Serve as advisor for a designated group of students.
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Assist with planning and implementing non-instructional activities (social events, field trips).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
