Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Academy of Arts & Technology in Marion, Ohio, to support students with IEP goals and foster a rigorous, nurturing classroom environment.

You will collaborate with teachers, conduct diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, lead IEP meetings, and implement behavior plans while engaging families and integrating culturally responsive teaching across EK-8th grade.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in a full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Outlook).
• Strong organization and time management abilities.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers and modify general education curricula as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals.
• Meet goals related to student achievement and culture and state targets.
• Use research-based daily planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons.
• Serve as advisor for a designated group of students.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in planning of non-instructional activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
