Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a qualified Behavior Intervention Specialist at Academy of Arts & Technology in Marion, Ohio, to address conduct, discipline, and attendance while supporting academics and student growth.

The role involves developing and implementing behavior plans, participating in IEP teams, and collaborating with staff and families to promote positive outcomes. Salary ranges from $50,000 to $55,000 with comprehensive benefits and opportunities within our charter-school network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social work, health, or another related field preferred.
• Intervention Specialist license preferred.
• A minimum of three years’ experience working with at‑risk or behaviorally challenged students.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with professionalism and tact.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding and supportive attitude toward behavioral needs of students.
• Provide knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessments, function-based interventions, and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Meet with students to develop individualized behavior tracking and intervention programs.
• Participate in IEP Teams and collaborate with administrators, teachers and parents.
• Monitor attendance and contribute to Absence Intervention Plans.
