ACCEL Schools is hiring an Intervention Specialist at South Columbus Preparatory Academy - German Village in Columbus, Ohio to support students with special education needs, behavioral and social-emotional supports, and collaboration with teachers.

The role includes diagnosing assessments, behavior plans, family communication, and helping create an inclusive classroom. The academy emphasizes hands-on learning and character education as part of a college-prep program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co‑Teaching in a Resource Room model
• High level of comfort in growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring
• High quality written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook)
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks (FBI/BCI)
• Experience working in a multi‑cultural setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities, adapt intervention strategies, and assist in class assignments.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction and functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans and facilitate IEP meetings.
• Write IEP goals and objectives and communicate progress to families.
• Plan non‑instructional activities and participate in school events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
