Job summary

ACCEL Schools Montgomery Preparatory Academy in Dayton, Ohio is seeking an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEPs and behavioral goals. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, conducting assessments, and developing individual plans to improve academic and social-emotional outcomes.

The candidate will work in a public charter PK-8 setting within a historic building, contributing to a rigorous, nurturing classroom environment and engaging families in student progress.

Qualifications

• Current state license is required.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards is essential.
• Experience in full inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model preferred.
• Growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in Word and Outlook; MS Office mastery.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and modify curricula as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and write behavior plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals/objectives.
• Work to meet student achievement and school culture goals.
• Use research-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
