Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Northwest School of the Arts in Cleveland, OH. The role focuses on supporting students with IEPs and implementing behavior and instructional plans within an inclusive setting.

Your work will involve collaborating with teachers, conducting assessments, and facilitating IEP meetings to support student outcomes and school culture. This position emphasizes growth through observation-driven coaching and family communication.

Qualifications

• Current state license.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room.
• Comfort with coaching via frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency in Office apps.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret abilities/disabilities and modify general education curricula as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals/objectives.
• Strive to meet goals related to student achievement and culture.
• Use research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching in daily lessons and interactions.
• Serve as advisor for a designated group of students.
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities like social events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
