Job summary

Northeast Ohio College Preparatory School, part of ACCEL Schools, in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEPs and collaborate with teachers to implement effective interventions.

You will conduct assessments, write behavior plans, facilitate IEP meetings, and monitor student progress, while promoting social-emotional and academic growth in a diverse learning environment. This full-time, on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current state license required—must meet state teaching standards.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Outlook).
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities, assist in intervention strategies, modify curriculum as needed, and assist with regular class work.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Strive to meet goals related to student achievement and school culture.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Regularly communicate with families about student growth.
• Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
