Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Lincoln Park Academy in Cleveland, Ohio, focused on supporting students with IEP goals and behavioral plans. You will collaborate with teachers to implement interventions and ensure alignment with state standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Comfort with a growth-focused coaching environment based on observations, debriefs, planning, and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting abilities and disabilities; assist in intervention strategies and modify general education curriculum as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Meet all goals related to student achievement and culture; align with state goals.
• Use research-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons and interactions with students and families.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Assist in planning non-instructional activities like social events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
