Job summary

Heritage High School in Vancouver, Washington is seeking an Intervention Paraeducator to support instructional activities with students in one-to-one and small-group settings. You will collaborate with teachers and administrators to deliver tutoring and help students reach academic and behavioral goals.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and either a ParaPro score or college credential; this is a part-time position with a 7-hour day and 190 days per year, contingent on grant

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher or two years college or ParaPro 461+.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typing/keyboard skills required.
• Experience working with students preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, staff and parents.
• Ability to work with and supervise students.
• Flexibility, initiative, cooperativeness and confidentiality.
• Willingness to learn computer skills and operate office equipment.
• Ability to perform under constant interruptions.
• Teamwork and positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with students.
• Assist one-to-one and small group instruction.
• Maintain a learning environment to support academic and social-emotional growth.
• Support student outcomes with instructional goals.
• Record student progress accurately.
• Assist in administering and scoring tests.
• Implement behavior management per plan.
• Organize instructional materials and assist with recordkeeping.
• Attend required trainings.
