PowerToFly is seeking a User Assistance Technical Writer to support the SOLIDWORKS User Assistance team. You will learn modern technical writing, use SOLIDWORKS apps, and help create and manage content that helps users onboard quickly.
You will review and improve existing content while contributing to new materials. The role emphasizes visual content and may involve AI/LLM tools to boost efficiency and collaboration.
This role is for a User Assistance Technical Writer to support the SOLIDWORKS User Assistance team. The team's mission is "to design, develop, and continuously improve user assistance content that is thorough, accurate, engaging, easy-to-find, and relevant so that users can onboard quickly and do their work effectively." The team documents all SOLIDWORKS-branded CAD and related apps, including SOLIDWORKS Design, DraftSight, xDesign, and many others.
Under the supervision of the User Assistance Development Director, senior managers, and other members of the team, you will:
Good candidates for the technical writing profession typically major either in a science, computer science, or engineering field or in a writing-intensive field such as English or Communications. Or, increasingly, they are pursuing degrees that combine science/engineering and arts/humanities disciplines.
Regardless of your major, your college record as a whole will demonstrate strong ability and interest in both writing and technology.
