Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. in Denver, CO seeks a Safety Intern to support our Corporate Safety Program this Summer. Work includes assisting with safety tasks, data reporting, and site evaluations under supervision.

Hours are May–August with potential overtime; pay is $19–$25 per hour DOE.

Candidates must be juniors or seniors pursuing a Bachelor's in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, with a minimum GPA of 2.75; construction experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior (highly preferred)
• Minimum GPA 2.75
• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related degree.
• Past construction work experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Maintaining divisional Safety and Health Program that meets or exceeds corporate minimum requirements
• Ensure timely reporting of statistical data to corporate
• Create, communicate, enforce and identify opportunities for improvements in Corporate Safety Program
• Maintaining all administrative tasks related to project specific safety documentation/filing systems, etc.
• Assist in conducting regularly scheduled site evaluations, follow up and tracking of corrections to deficiencies
• Enforce documentation on the proper training of employees as related to their scope of work

Internship Work Schedule:

Summer 2027 (May August) Monday Friday 7:00am 5:30pm, plus overtime.

Please note, schedule is subject to change and availability of intern. However, interns will most likely be expected to work Saturdays and long days / weeks (50-65 hours a week).

Pay is $19.00 to $25.00 DOE
