Job summary

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. in Cheyenne, WY is seeking an Intern to assist with Safety and Health programs on construction projects. The role focuses on maintaining safety processes, reporting data to corporate, and identifying opportunities to improve safety practices.

The candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, be a junior or senior (highly preferred), with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Prior construction experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain divisional Safety and Health Program that meets or exceeds corporate minimum requirements.
• Ensure timely reporting of statistical data to corporate.
• Create, communicate, enforce and identify opportunities for improvements in Corporate Safety Program.
• Maintaining all administrative tasks related to project specific safety documentation/filing systems, etc.
• Assist in conducting regularly scheduled site evaluations, follow up and tracking of corrections to deficiencies.
• Enforce documentation on the proper training of employees as related to their scope of work.
