Inter-American Development Bank invites active graduate students to join the 2027 Winter Internship Program in Washington, DC as an Intern Consultant for two months (January 16–March 15, 2027). The role emphasizes research, knowledge management and coordination for the Amazonia Forever initiative and engages with Indigenous Peoples and local communities.

The internship is a paid opportunity based at HQ with opportunities to learn about development work and corporate management of the Bank.

Qualifications

  • Active graduate student in a relevant field with graduation after internship period.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of Spanish, French or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Amazon languages is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Amazonia Forever team with research, coordination and knowledge management.
  • Prepare presentations, briefing materials and analytical summaries.
  • Collect, organize and analyze information to support project planning and decisions.
  • Contribute to design and implementation of activities under Amazonia Forever.
  • Support stakeholder engagement with Indigenous Peoples and local communities.
  • Help organize meetings, workshops and related activities.
