Job summary

Toyota of Wallingford is seeking an Internet Sales Assistant to join the Sales department in a full-time hourly role within the Business Development Center (BDC). You will be the first point of contact for online or phone inquiries about vehicles, engaging customers and guiding them to in-person showroom visits.

A base hourly rate plus a monthly bonus is included for successful appointments and closed sales.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in a BDC or automotive internet sales/customer contact role.
• Strong customer service skills for phone/email/text.
• Proven ability to persuade customers to schedule or keep appointments.
• Basic to intermediate vehicle knowledge and terminology.
• Toyota product knowledge preferred or willingness to learn quickly.
• Prior sales experience in automotive/retail.
• Clear, professional English communication skills.
• Experience with CRM systems and data entry for scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound internet and phone leads promptly and professionally.
• Persuade customers to schedule showroom or virtual appointments.
• Answer product questions and present features, benefits, and options clearly.
• Qualify leads by identifying needs, timelines, interests; document in CRM.
• Make outbound calls, emails, and texts to follow up with leads and customers.
• Coordinate with BDC and showroom teams for smooth handoff from inquiry to visit.
• Maintain an organized appointment schedule to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals.
• Track interactions and outcomes in CRM with accuracy and detail.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented BDC environment.
• Stay current on Toyota models, features, promotions, and dealership offers.
• Assist with campaigns/promotions by contacting targeted lists.
