Job summary

Essenti Talent is seeking an Associate Attorney for its International Trade Practice Group in Washington, DC. The role focuses on advising clients on complex trade and regulatory matters, including sanctions, export controls, and ITC issues.

The candidate will handle U.S. trade remedy matters, litigate before agencies, and contribute to cross-border regulatory programs in a collaborative, high-caliber environment.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Washington, DC Bar in good standing.
• 2–4 years of substantive international trade experience.
• Experience counseling on U.S. international trade regulatory issues.
• Experience with trade remedy matters (AD/CVD) and related enforcement.
• Experience litigating before U.S. trade agencies and ITC.
• Experience advising on OFAC sanctions, EAR, BIS rules.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of international trade and regulatory matters.
• Counsel clients regarding U.S. trade remedy laws, including AD/CVD and enforcement.
• Represent clients before government agencies and the U.S. Court of International Trade.
• Provide strategic guidance on sanctions, export controls, and cross-border compliance.
• Develop regulatory analyses and assist in compliance program design.
• Monitor developments in trade policy and sanctions that affect client operations.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on complex matters.
