Job summary

The Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM) is building its Department of Medicine and Primary Care with a founding faculty member for Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will oversee curriculum delivery, recruit and mentor faculty, and advance research and community engagement while supporting the mission of IllinoisCOM and The Chicago

Qualifications

  • DO or MD degree with board certification in related specialty.
  • At least five years of experience in medical education, residency training, or faculty leadership.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and student mentorship.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to collaborative, interprofessional education and the integration of osteopathic principles in training.
  • At least five years of clinical practice experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership for Internal Medicine within the IllinoisCOM.
  • Lead curriculum development and assessment for the Internal Medicine rotations.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop faculty members within the department.
  • Maintain partnerships with hospitals, clinics, and community organizations to support clinical training and research opportunities.
  • Represent the College in professional organizations and events.
  • Assist with student recruitment and community outreach efforts.
  • Participate in college and University committees.
  • Engage in clinical practice (strongly encouraged).
