Job summary

Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM) in Chicago invites an accomplished physician educator to serve as founding Internal Medicine faculty. This full-time appointment is open at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels, with rank determined by policy.

The role oversees the Internal Medicine curriculum, mentors faculty, and builds clinical partnerships while advancing student-centered, evidence-informed education and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• DO or MD degree with board certification in related specialty.
• At least five years of experience in medical education, residency training, or faculty leadership.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and student mentorship.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to collaborative, interprofessional education and integration of osteopathic principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for Internal Medicine within the IllinoisCOM.
• Lead curriculum development and assessment for Internal Medicine clinical rotations.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop faculty members within the department.
• Develop partnerships with hospitals and community organizations to support training and research.
• Engage in clinical practice and contribute to scholarly activity.
