Job summary

University of Hawai'i at Manoa – John A. Burns School of Medicine seeks an Assistant (H3) / Associate Professor (H4) as UHPC Core Faculty.

This 11-month, temporary faculty position offers part-time to full-time equivalency (up to 10% FTE) with duties in curriculum development and program leadership within UHPCIM. The role includes mentoring learners, contributing to curriculum projects, and potential committee service, with review starting November 2026 and renewable subject to performance and

Qualifications

MD degree or equivalent medical degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of residency and/or fellowship training per ACGME or AOA.
Board certification or qualification to become board certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM).
Valid Hawaii Medical license by date of hire.
Demonstrated ability in teaching and patient care.
Professionalism in meeting and conferring with others.
Organizational skills and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

Supports Chair and UHPCIM Program Director with curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
Mentors advanced medical students, interns and residents.
Participates in curriculum development and faculty development.
Helps develop and evaluate a Primary Care Curriculum for UHPCIM residents and students.
May serve on committees as agreed with Chair/Program Director.
Other scholarly duties as assigned.
