Job summary

Tallgrass is offering a Summer 2027 internship in its Project Management department in Houston, TX. You will support the Procurement Manager and become part of the project management team for a major capital project.

You will learn the basics of running a large capital project and be exposed to decision‑making processes in project engineering. This in-person internship runs May–August for 10 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Active enrollment in an approved bachelor’s or master’s Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain program.
  • Expected graduation December 2026 – May 2028.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and math capability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating technical bids and organizing bid tabulations.
  • Review data quality of third-party engineering deliverables.
  • Help create procurement processes and procedures.
  • Support auditing, maintain logs, and take meeting minutes.
  • Catalog vendor documents and assist in reports.
  • Support Procurement Manager with ad hoc tasks.

The Project Management department manages all the capital projects for Tallgrass including natural gas, hydrogen and ammonia transportation, and CO2 sequestration

Responsibilities
What will you do

The selected candidates will work in the Tallgrass Project Management department in Houston, Texas. The intern’s main responsibility will be to support the Procurement Manager in the day-to-day running of a major project. You will become part of the project management team of a project.

You Can Expect To
  • Assisting in the evaluation of technical bids and proposals, organizing bid tabulations, etc.
  • Data quality review of third-party engineering deliverables Aiding in the creating procurement processes and procedures.
  • Supporting the auditing efforts, maintaining logs of requests and keeping minutes of meetings
  • Cataloging and archiving vendor documents
  • Assist in preparation of reports and ad Hoc tasks as requested by the Procurement Manager.

The intern will learn the basic tasks of running a large capital project and be exposed to the decision-making processes of project engineering.

What Else Do You Need To Know

Our internships are temporary full-time positions, in-person at our Houston office. We will host our Summer 2027 interns from May-August for 10 weeks.

Compensation And Other Benefits
  • Pay Range $20.90-$37.09 USD hourly
  • The final pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total compensation package for this role may also include paid time off, a housing stipend, and more.
