Job summary

Tallgrass is offering a Summer 2027 internship in the Capital Project Assurance department in Houston, TX. You will join a team that supports large capital projects across natural gas, hydrogen and ammonia transportation, and CO2 sequestration.

As an intern, you will assist in day-to-day activities, learn project execution strategies, review data, and work on tools for detailed design and project execution.

Qualifications

• Students actively enrolled in approved bachelor’s or master’s Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering program with expected graduation date of December 2026- May 2028.
• Microsoft Office expert level and excellent math skills.

What this Department does:

The Project Management department manages all the capital projects for Tallgrass including natural gas, hydrogen and ammonia transportation, and CO2 sequestration.

Responsibilities

What will you do:

The selected candidates will work in the Tallgrass Capital Project Assurance department. The intern’s main responsibility will be to support the Capital Project Assurance Director in the day-to-day activities associated with managing large capital project assurance. You will become part of the project assurance team.

You Can Expect To

• Work at a high level within a functioning project management department and support defining project execution strategies, reviewing project data and analytics, and developing tools related to detailed design and project execution.
• Review and audit third-party engineering deliverables and project management activities
• Assist in preparation of project assurance reports and ad hoc tasks as requested by the project team

You Will Learn

The intern will learn the basic tasks of running a large capital project and be exposed to the decision-making processes of project engineering and project management.

What Else Do You Need To Know

Our internships are temporary full-time positions, in-person at our Houston, TX. office. We will host our Summer 2027 interns from May-August for 10 weeks.

Compensation And Other Benefits

• Pay Range $26.18-$37.09 USD hourly
• The final pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total compensation package for this role may also include; paid time off, a housing stipend, and more.

Compensation ranges are provided in good faith based on what we anticipate when researching wages for this position at the state and national levels. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
