Job summary

Tallgrass is offering an internship in the Capital Project Assurance department in Houston, TX. This is a temporary full-time position for the Summer 2027 internship program (May–August, 10 weeks). Pay ranges from $26.18 to $37.09 USD per hour, with potential housing stipend and other benefits.

The selected interns will support the Capital Project Assurance Director, learn the basics of running large capital projects, and gain exposure to project engineering and management decision-making.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an approved Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree program with expected graduation Dec 2026–May 2028.
• Microsoft Office expert level and strong math skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Capital Project Assurance Director in day-to-day activities for large capital projects.
• Define project execution strategies, review project data/analytics, and develop tools for detailed design and project execution.
• Review third-party engineering deliverables and assist in preparing project assurance reports.

Our internships are temporary full-time positions, in-person at our Houston, TX office. We will host our Summer 2027 interns from May-August for 10 weeks.

Compensation And Other Benefits

• Pay Range $26.18-$37.09 USD hourly
• The final pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total compensation package for this role may also include; paid time off, a housing stipend, and more.

What will you do:

The selected candidates will work in the Tallgrass Capital Project Assurance department. The intern's main responsibility will be to support the Capital Project Assurance Director in the day-to-day activities associated with managing large capital project assurance. You will become part of the project assurance team.

You can expect to:

• Work at a high level within a functioning project management department and support defining project execution strategies, reviewing project data and analytics, and developing tools related to detailed design and project execution.
• Review and audit third-party engineering deliverables and project management activities
• Assist in preparation of project assurance reports and ad hoc tasks as requested by the project team

You will learn:

The intern will learn the basic tasks of running a large capital project and be exposed to the decision-making processes of project engineering and project management.
