Office of Attorney General in Pierre is seeking an Intern – ATG - Consumer to assist with daily office duties and consumer protection matters. Position Description:
Intern will assist with the day-to-day duties of the office. This may include answering our toll-free line to assist consumers with their issue. Intern will become well versed with consumer protection laws such as the vehicle lemon law, travel statutes, charities, cyber security, ID Theft, and many more. The internship may also include special projects such as working with the Investigators on research, organizing case files and prepping a case. This position may include attending the various fairs we attend throughout the state working in our Consumer Protection booth and interacting with the public.
Qualifications:
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply. By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.
