Midland States Bank invites applications for a Brand Marketing Intern in Effingham, IL. The role supports the Marketing Department with recurring tasks and special projects during the Summer 2027 program.
You will work full-time, 40 hours weekly, and gain exposure to event marketing, brand asset governance, and corporate communications while learning in a regulated industry.
At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards).

The Brand Marketing Intern will provide assistance to the Marketing Department with various recurring tasks as well as special projects.
Education/Experience: The internship will run for Summer of 2027 beginning mid-May and ending early August. Able to work a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Must reside local to Effingham, IL and report to the Effingham office. Enrolled in a degree program with courses of study including public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, business, or a related field at a college or university with at least 2 years completed. Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms is helpful but not required. Interest in brand management, event marketing, and corporate communications. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information appropriately. Good judgment and willingness to learn when independent action is appropriate and when additional review or approval is necessary. Ability to receive feedback and adjust quickly. Personable and comfortable communicating with employees, vendors, and community partners. Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of assignments and follow through. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Very strong writing, grammatical editing, and verbal communication skills. Works well in team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs.
