Midland States Bank is offering an internship for a Credit Analyst in Rockford, IL. The role focuses on learning financial statement analysis to evaluate commercial borrowers and understand credit decisions.
You will gain exposure to loan structures, the credit approval process, and the link between lending and credit risk, while collaborating with senior leaders and lenders.
At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Education/Experience: The internship will run for Summer of 2027 beginning mid‑May and ending early August. Able to work a 40‑hour work week, Monday‑Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Must reside local to the Rockford, IL area and report to the Rockford office. Enrolled in a Finance or Accounting degree program at a college or university with at least 2 years completed. Works well in team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Teams. Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs. Interest in commercial lending, credit analysis, or a related banking career is preferred. Strong analytical skills and an interest in financial statement analysis. Ability to learn financial analysis concepts and apply them accurately to assigned work. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with Credit team members, Commercial Lenders, and other business partners.
