Midland States Bank is seeking an IT Infrastructure Intern in Effingham, IL for Summer 2027. The role supports the Infrastructure Department with documentation, hardware/configuration, and server maintenance, while enabling exposure to networking, cloud, security and automation.
The internship requires enrollment in IT/CS/Cybersecurity with at least 2 years completed, and a 40-hour work week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., local to Effingham.

Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). The IT Infrastructure Intern will provide assistance to the Infrastructure Department with various recurring tasks as well as special projects.
Education/Experience: The internship will run for Summer of 2027 beginning mid-May and ending early August. Able to work a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Must reside local to Effingham, IL and report to the Effingham office. Enrolled in a degree program with courses of study including Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field at a college or university with at least 2 years completed. Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python is a plus, but not required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and a desire to learn. Basic understanding of networking, servers, and operating systems. Works well in team environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Teams. Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs.
