Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. invites you to an Electrical Design Engineering Internship in the High Performance Analog group in the United States.

The program offers real work experience, mentorship, and opportunities to pursue full-time roles based on performance. You will support RF/analog circuit design, schematic development, testing, and data analysis while gaining hands-on experience with lab equipment and industry tools under experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering completed or near completion.
• RF or Microwave design coursework completed.
• Familiarity with RF measurement equipment preferred.
• Experience with Altium, Cadence, LTspice, ADS or similar tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Support RF, analog, and power management circuit design and testing.
• Assist with schematic development and component selection.
• Participate in lab testing using spectrum/network analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Contribute to design documentation and reports.
• Gain hands-on experience while working with senior engineers.

Skyworks' Internship Program is designed for college students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. Skyworks offers real work experience, exposure to upper management, and the opportunity to pursue full-time opportunities, as available.

Skyworks' Electrical Design Engineering Internships are offered in our High Performance Analog business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, analysis, simulation, and testing of RF, analog, and power management circuit card assemblies for advanced communication and electronic systems.
• Assist engineers with schematic development, component selection, RF signal chain design, and circuit performance optimization.
• Participate in characterization and laboratory testing using equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
• Perform circuit simulations and analyses to evaluate gain, noise figure, linearity, power consumption, and overall system performance.
• Contribute to design documentation, technical reports, design reviews, and test procedures.
• Gain hands-on experience developing next‑generation RF and mixed‑signal hardware while working alongside experienced electrical and RF design engineers.

Required Experience and Skills

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering
• Student must have completed some RF or Microwave design course work
• Exposure to RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers preferred
• Familiarity with design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, LTspice, ADS, or similar engineering software.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 Strong collaboration skills Self-Starter with good communication skills Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information
• Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products
• Be able to enjoy working in fast paced work environment

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
