Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. invites aspiring engineers to join our RFIC Design Engineering Internship in the United States. You will work on RF/analog circuit design, simulations, and testing, gaining exposure to state-of-the-art tools and senior mentors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• GPA 3.5 or higher.
• RF/microwave, analog, and digital IC design coursework or experience preferred.
• Exposure to RF measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers and network analyzers) preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Software exposure: SKILL, Python, TCL, Bash scripting.

Responsibilities

• Producing and implementing designs to meet RF and analog circuit specifications.
• Meeting performance requirements while considering size, cost, footprint, power dissipation and schedule.
• Partnering with technicians to perform circuit simulations and testing as needed.
• Designing and testing RF circuits (PA, LNA, SW, Matching Networks) and analog circuits.
• Using test equipment to compare simulated data to real lab data.
• Transistor-level design, simulation, and layout; analog/RF testing.

RFIC Design Engineering Intern

Skyworks' Internship Program is designed for college students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program. Skyworks offers real work experience, exposure to upper management, and the opportunity to pursue full-time opportunities, as available.

Skyworks' Design Engineering Internships are offered in our Connect & Sensor business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities

• Producing and implementing designs to meet customer specifications for RF and analog circuits
• Meeting performance requirements while also considering size, cost, footprint, power dissipation and schedule
• Partnering with technicians to perform circuit simulations and testing as needed
• Designing and testing RF circuits (PA, LNA, SW, Matching Networks), and analog circuits
• Potential to work with: Signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare simulated data to real lab data
• Transistor level circuit design, simulation, and layout Analog/RF measurement and digital capture/pattern-generation
• Scripting automated/regression simulation environments (SKILL, python, TCL, bash)

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently pursuing a MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Minimum GPA of 3.5
• RF/microwave, Analog, & Digital integrated-circuit design course work and/or experience strongly preferred
• Exposure to RF measurement equipment such as, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Software ExposureADS, FEM, HFSS, Momentum, Synopsis, Mentor Calibre, Cadence Virtuoso/EMX/Xcelium, Dynamic Link, 3D CAD, Mechanical FEA Scripting Exposure: SKILL, python, TCL, bash
• Self-Starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling
• Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products

Desired Experience and Skills

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
