Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern for its Advanced Cellular group. You will work on RF design blocks, contribute to lab data, and gain exposure to upper management.

The internship offers mentoring, real work experience, and opportunities to pursue full-time roles. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment and present your work to business leaders.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• Completed some analog/RF circuit design coursework.
• Software exposure: ADS, AWR, FEM, HFSS, Momentum, Cadence, Dynamic Link, Python (desired).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Strong collaboration skills
• Self-Starter with good communication skills
• Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical information
• Detail oriented to ensure design and delivery of high yielding products
• Be able to enjoy working in fast paced work environment

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design of RF blocks for LTE, LNA, switch, or RF modules
• Meet performance targets while considering size, cost, and schedule
• Develop designs for LTE, carrier aggregation, multiple antennas, filters, and power management
• Adapt to new customer requirements for ruggedness and ESD
• Work with team on schematics, simulations, and lab data
• Operate test equipment to compare simulations with lab results

Skyworks' Design Engineering Internships are offered in our Advanced Cellular business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design of multiple functional blocks including Power amplifier, LNA, switch or acoustic filters, and RF Modules
• Meet performance requirements while also considering size, cost, footprint, and schedule
• Produce designs with increasing complexity from customer demands for LTE, carrier aggregation, multiple antennas, filters, and power management
• Adapt to new customer requirements for ruggedness, ESD, and quality
• Work as a member of a team to contribute design schematics, simulations, and real lab data
• Work with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters to compare simulated data to real lab data

Required Experience And Skills

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering
• Student must have completed some analog/RF circuit design course work
• Software Exposure: ADS, AWR, FEM, HFSS, Momentum, Cadence, Dynamic Link, Python (desired)
• Minimum GPA of 3.0

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
