Job summary

Intermodal Operations Manager at NFI leads the day-to-day Intermodal team, ensuring responsive service to clients, suppliers, and the operations group. You will develop SOPs, coach staff, and collaborate with pricing, capacity, and sales to grow the business while maintaining service levels.

This role requires 5–7 years in intermodal or related shipping, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and TMS systems.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree preferred.
• 5–7 years experience preferred in intermodal, domestic truckload and LTL.
• Familiarity with DOT Hours of Service and AAR circulars.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple applications.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Intermodal operations team with coaching and development.
• Negotiate rates and services with clients for Intermodal and FTL.
• Develop, implement, and manage SOPs for each account.
• Coordinate with capacity group to cover committed freight.
• Respond to sales inquiries and provide pricing proposals.
• Ensure proper follow up and management of all shipments.
• Drive growth from existing Intermodal client base.
• Hire and train new operations staff.
