Job summary

NFI is seeking an experienced Intermodal Carrier Account Manager in Austin, TX to serve as the primary contact between NFI and its third-party intermodal drayage carrier base. You will monitor shipments, communicate proactively, and support the Intermodal Operations Manager with performance and issue resolution.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years brokerage experience, familiarity with DOT regulations, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to handle high call volumes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in business or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years brokerage experience with domestic truckload, LTL, and intermodal shipments.
• Familiar with DOT trucking regulations (Hours of Service, Claims).
• Proficient with MS Office and able to handle a high volume of calls.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Load planning, optimization, routing and scheduling for intermodal moves.
• Assess carriers against NFI standards to ensure high service levels.
• Respond to customer/driver inquiries by email, phone, and tracking shipments.
• Monitor market requirements by lane to maximize efficiency and network operations.
• Negotiate network and spot rates with carriers to drive revenue growth.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, drayage agents and internal teams to meet partner needs.
• Notify carriers and customers of delays and provide enroute problem resolution.
