Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional Intermediate for the NE Region. You will contribute to design and analysis, collaborating with the team to develop concepts, perform calculations, and ensure the structural requirements are clearly communicated in drawings and models.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering (Structural), an active EIT, and at least two years of experience with US codes and structural software. A hybrid work model and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• EIT certification is required.
• 2+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with US building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform conventional structural analysis and design tasks.
• Develop judgement in evaluating, selecting and adapting engineering approaches.
• Build engineering judgement and problem-solving skills and seek guidance when needed.
• Gain knowledge of lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic, applying building code provisions.
• Show attention to detail and perform quality control on own work.
• Take ownership of workload, meet schedule, budget and quality goals and escalate scope changes when needed.
