Job summary

ITW is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine B Operator in Solon, Ohio. Hours are 3:00pm–11:00pm, Monday–Friday, with a $0.50 shift premium for 2nd shift.

You will operate and tend packaging machines, perform setup/changeovers, and ensure products meet work orders.You will also conduct quality inspections, assist in troubleshooting packaging equipment, and support other teams as needed, including forklift operation within a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience required.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot packaging machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operate filling, labeling, packing, blistering or closing packaging machines.
• Perform minor adjustments, setup, changeovers, cleaning and general operation of filling/packaging equipment.
• Verify jobs per bill of materials and work instructions; prep for current and future orders.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure packaging meets work orders and specs.
• Assist in troubleshooting and training on packaging equipment.
• Forklift experience required.
• Follow EH&S and quality guidelines.
• Fill in for Material Handlers or Machine C Operators when needed.

Job Description:

We are presently seeking candidates for a 2nd Shift Machine B Operator in the Manufacturing Department. The hours for this position will be 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday.

The Machine B Operator is responsible for the following:

• Performs manually and/or tends machines which perform various packaging functions such as, filling, labeling, packing, blistering or closing containers.
• Responsible for minor adjustments, set-ups, changeovers, cleaning and general operation of various filling and packaging machines.
• Validates and organizes jobs in accordance with bill of materials and special work instructions based on current and future job orders.
• Responsible for conducting quality inspection of goods at the correct intervals, ensuring that product is packaged according to the work order.
• Ability to identify problems and assist in troubleshooting/training on the cardboard baler, plastic baler, carton erector, pallet jack, pick and place card/blister adjustments, taper/tape gun, and additional production equipment.
• Assists in training assigned full time/temp operators and assists other teams as needed.
• Forklift experience required.
• Promotes and follows all Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality guidelines and procedures.
• Must have the ability to fill in for Material Handlers and Machine C Operators when needed.

Compensation Information:

$20.40 - $22.50, based upon experience. Additional $0.50 shift premium for working 2nd Shift.
