Job summary

ITW Permatex in Solon, Ohio is seeking a 3rd shift Machine B Operator for the Manufacturing Department. The role runs 11:00pm–7:00am, Sunday through Thursday, supporting packaging lines with filling, labeling, packing, and closing containers.

You will perform setup, changeovers, routine cleaning, and quality inspections, troubleshoot production equipment, train new operators, and operate a pallet jack. Forklift experience is required, and you will follow EH&S and quality guidelines while

Qualifications

• Experience operating packaging lines and related equipment.
• Ability to perform minor machine adjustments, set-ups, and changeovers.
• Commitment to quality inspections and packaging accuracy.
• Willingness to train and assist other operators.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual operation or tends machines for packaging functions (filling, labeling, packing, etc.).
• Handles setup, changeovers, cleaning and general operation of filling/packaging machines.
• Validates and organizes jobs per BOM and work instructions.
• Conducts quality inspections at required intervals to ensure packaging meets work orders.
• Identifies problems and assists in troubleshooting production equipment.
• Assists in training assigned operators and other teams as needed.
• Forklift experience required.
• Follows EH&S and quality guidelines and procedures.
• May fill in for Material Handlers and Machine C Operators when needed.

Job Description

We are presently seeking candidates for a 3rd Shift Machine B Operator in the Manufacturing Department. The hours for this position will be 11:00pm - 7:00am, Sunday - Thursday.

The Machine B Operator Is Responsible For The Following

• Performs manually and/or tends machines which perform various packaging functions such as, filling, labeling, packing, blistering or closing containers.
• Responsible for minor adjustments, set-ups, changeovers, cleaning and general operation of various filling and packaging machines.
• Validates and organizes jobs in accordance with bill of materials and special work instructions based on current and future job orders.
• Responsible for conducting quality inspection of goods at the correct intervals, ensuring that product is packaged according to the work order.
• Ability to identify problems and assist in troubleshooting/training on the cardboard baler, plastic baler, carton erector, pallet jack, pick and place card/blister adjustments, taper/tape gun, and additional production equipment.
• Assists in training assigned full time/temp operators and assists other teams as needed.
• Forklift experience required.
• Promotes and follows all Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality guidelines and procedures.
• Must have the ability to fill in for Material Handlers and Machine C Operators when needed.

Compensation Information

$20.40 - $23.00, based upon experience. Additional $1.00 shift premium for working 3rd Shift.
